Well tumblr. It’s 2:40 AM, hot as fuck, and I can’t sleep. So I figured I’d share a thought or two tonight…

Me and my lady were watchin NBC’s new show Awake the other night, which is pretty good so far, I might add. Anyways.. this episode was about the main character, who is a police officer, and his son. A man who was framed for a murder some 10 years ago broke out of prison. This guy, apparently, had a son who OD’d on something and he went and killed the dealer, then got life in prison. Well, this officer is the one that arrested him. So he breaks out and kidnaps his son.

Don’t worry, I’m gettin there.

Did I mention the escapee was a black man, and the cop and his son are white? Well, they are. Lol. So he takes this kid out far in the desert to some shack. The kid immediately starts at the man screamin “You should know my dad is a cop. They will be looking for me in no time.” Or something like that.

Now please people. I know. I know. This is a script and yadda yadda ya.. Ta hell wit all that. Movies and tv shows play out racial stereotypes allll thee fuckin time so I don’t want to hear it.

This is where I can’t stand movies/shows sometime. White people are so confident, so secure, so SURE that someone, ANYone will come and rescue them. They just know that somebody is going to find them. It’s like they believe that at some random time someone’s spidey senses are going to tingle or some shit. But that’s not even what’s fuckin me up about the whole thing..

First off, before I go any further, let me just say that I have never had to personally deal with a missing person case or even known anyone who has, so I apologize for my insensitivity if I offend anybody.

But.. looking at this from a real life perspective.. I would haaaate to be a black kid, gone missing. This white boy was so sure his dad was going to find him. And, lets just negate the fact that his dad was a cop because they woulda been looking regardless, in my opinion. But if I was a black kid, I would be terrified cause I just knoooow that ain’t nobody out there lookin for my black ass. I’m sure it depends on where you live and blah blah blah but on a grand scale? They just are not as adamant about finding missing black people. Hell, I would think that the only way you have a real chance of being looked for as hard is if your mother/father is a cop or if you’re someone in an important position (i.e. el presidente). And the kid in the show is 16.. 17 or somethin. Like.. real nigga shit, if I’m 16/17 and someone takes me, I’m probably thinkin like “I got a better chance of beatin this motha fucka down than I do of being found. Fuck it. Split this dudes bean and run for it nigga!” But just imagine if you were like… 5 or something. You don’t even knoooow that you’re not gonna be found. And worse than that, you’re not old enough to understand that the reason you won’t be found is because you’re black!! It’s crazy man. Yes, white kids/women go missing all of the time as well but go and google “missing black children” hell you don’t even have to type it all cause google will finish that shit for you! you’ll get to “missing bla-” and the options will be like “missing black children/women/girl”. Now go and google “missing white-” You know what comes up? “missing white woman syndrome”. Forreal? Please. I’m not even gonna go there right now. It just sucks that like.. all of the bad things that can happen to people. Like.. dude. You can be anyyyy other race. Dude can come up to you with a gun and shoot you and the news will say that he’s just crazy. But a black person. Someone randomly comes and shoot you, 9/10 my guess is because you’re black and they’ll call it a hate crime, talk about WE as a COUNTRY needs to stop hate crimes for like a fuckin day, then you’ll never hear about it again.. Unless it’s another black person. Then its a “black on black” problem. This society is fucked.

Hoarding

So that same station this morning (this time it was after class lol) had another question. The question was: “If you were a hoarder, what you hoard?” 

Now I don’t know if that’s even politically correct but I get what they were asking. I was goin to call in but I left my phone at the apt, but I got to thinkin..

I have always had a pretty keen sense for fixin things, primarily electronics. And since 2006, I have lived in about 7 different cities. Couple that with shit I’ve just had over the years, I have accumulated lotsa, lotsa stuff. Now, these hoarders you see on A&E and shit.. that mess is out. of. fucking. hand. Lawd Jebus, idk how they do it. I saw one woman the other day.. this lady had nothin but ceramic horses, newspapers, and fancy ass lamp shades. Talk about random. Anywho, I couldn’t keep no shit like that. If I ever was to become a hoarder, it would be useful things.

Back to the point. Like I said, I’m pretty good with electronics. I have a lot of electrical things, more specifically chords. Power cords, A/V cords, multiple phone chargers (even though almost all chargers are essentially usb cords), AUX cors , power adapters, surge protectors, extension cords… you name it, I prolly have it, or had it at one point. I have one shoe box and like a 5 gallon tub box full of just cords and shit. I also have a few headphone adapters (like the big one that is used for keyboards [pianos] or guitar amps).
